Český Krumlov and Wachau Valley Tour

Český Krumlov and Wachau Valley Tour
The Wachau is the name given to the most picturesque stretch of the Danube Valley, located between the towns of Krems and Melk and which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. On each side of the river you will see some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe, with sprawling vineyards, apricot orchards and numerous historical and cultural monuments, including catholic abbeys and ruined castles. The tour through the Wachau will give you an insight into the centuries-old history of Austria and how it has developed from medieval to modern times. In particular you will be stunned by the magnificent Benedictine abbey of Melk, one of the oldest abbeys in Europe. This monastery was the cradle of Christianity in Austria and has stood proudly on the rocky cliffs overlooking the Danube for a thousand years. We will have a short break for photo shooting in Melk without entrance to the abbey and will continue our trip to Czech Republic.
The highlight of the tour will be a visit to Cesky Krumlov, an idyllic medieval town just over the border in the Czech Republic.  Admire this beautifully renovated 16th century town, also a UNESCO World Heritage site, perfectly located on the River Vltava. Stroll through the quaint streets or visit the impressive fortress with its majestic gardens which dominates the town.
This tour will be operated with  a multi-lingual guide in English and Russian.
